i'm back again! :) i went to the city today! I love love love Melbourne City. It's such a nice place to walk in and the weather was absolutely fantastic today! It was about 22-23 degrees and the sun was shining and everything. OOH it was so nice. I left halls around 10 and managed to catch the 900 to Huntingdale station after a wild pig scamper to catch the bus. Went down with kw, sy, xf, zx and wd. Got off at Melbourne Central and tried to get to QVM from there. (I LOVE QVM!) and then the girls got sidetracked because we kept on walking into stores and looking at stuff. Then sy and I found a neoprint store! -amazed- so kw, xf, sy and I took neoprints! I haven't done that since.. well, in ages! -beams- we eventually got to QVM and we had lunch there, which was so good! kw, sy and I shared a giant garlic bread garnished with some dried parsley flakes (which was disastrous because it all got stuck in our teeth), nachos where even the bowl was a nacho and these mini italian pancakes with ice cream and maple syrup. *sigh* it was so satisfying :) food there is good good good good good. Then we went shopping for stuff! I bought nuts.. a lot a lot of nuts - 2 kg of smoked almonds, 1 kg of brazil nuts, 700 g of honey macadamias. Altogether, I spent more than $60.. I think about $65 on nuts to bring home. -.- Carrying them was horrible! I bought some other nice stuff too hee hee. :) but yes, the nuts were really terrible, so sy decided to ask armaan to let us use his car boot to dump our stuff, which was a brilliant suggestion, because she was carrying a huge framed photo of the 2006/2007 man u team. haha. :)
after that we went to DFO! DFO rocks! :) kw, sy and I started at one end (this is the smaller one, mind you) and 2 hours later, we weren't even halfway through, even though xf, wd and armaan were already done. haha. It closed at 6 and at 5.55pm, kw and I were sprinting down the last half upon which we met armaan and we were like, "one more shop, one more shop!" and we took off again, tearing DFO up. haha. it was really funny. :) We went to the Levi's outlet store! I bought a pair of Levi's jeans! My first pair! wahaha. It was quite painful.. $80. But then again, a pair would cost about $120-$130 back home, and I got this for S$96 after conversion :) so I think it was a pretty good buy! All in all, I spent about $220 today >.< ugh pain.. and next week, I'm going to the DFO at Essendon! which is near the airport and is much larger than the one at Southern Cross, which is the one we went to today. oh boy.. I think I'll have to eat oreos this week. Speaking of which, I haven't had oreos since I've come here. but then again, with Tim Tams, who needs oreos? :)
Essentially, we were walking pretty much non-stop from 11 to 6 and I'm so so tired now! bleh. haha next week a gigantic group of us are going to the DFO at essendon and some of the guys were thinking about renting cars. HAHA. :) the things we do for good deals. And 4 days later hehehehe.. I'll be where I want to be!! ahhh I can't wait!! :) but I'll miss the people here. :( nvm! there'll be the gathering at hc's house! wahaha with his home karaoke set with 6000 songs. sy and I already decided that we would sing spice girls and boy band songs. and kw wanted to make it an over night thing. haha. :) ah well. so now it's 0108 (ooh 108 yay!) and I'm waiting for my stupid laundry to finish. ugh. and I'm so sleepy. ah well, i'll update again another time. I'm so sleepy. I'll talk about the exam postponement (if there is such a word) in the next entry. Too sleepy now. Take care and God bless~
