It rained again today! What nice weather to sleep in! Today I went to work! Are you amazed? The bum is no longer a bum! But I'm working at the Lenovo road show at Funan, so I'm promoting Lenovo laptops! They're super powerful machines. According to Kenneth, even if I drop it, it won't spoil. Maybe I should have gotten a Lenovo laptop instead of the Acer. But my acer one is quite nice.. but I don't think it'll last for all 5 years. The road show was from about 12-8 and it was really depressing because I didn't close any deals. The only thing I managed to sell (sort of) was a slip in case for a laptop. I brought some guy up to the shop to get a case. Kenneth said I can get $1 for that. -.- but the guy was from Monash! I thought that that was pretty cool. He told me he'll be finishing in 6 months time and he's at Clayton campus too!

Speaking of Monash, I need to pack! -grumbles-

ah my feet are freezing.. It's such a nice cold day. :) but it's really unfortunate. I've been eating so much lately! This is just a taste of my Australia days where I shall blow up back to my glory days :D

Eek Coda 2 is tomorrow.. Good luck good luck! Hope it goes well.

Hm. There are a lot of things that I wanted to say but I forgot. haha. I think my memory is failing me. And I think that is attributed to the fact that it hasn't been used for the past.. year? Haha. How amusing.

But first, I want to say MERRY CHRISTMAS!

This year's Christmas was quite different from last year. The family dinner was held at Uncle An's house and I didn't go over to Paul's house. But I did have fun!

On Saturday, after alumni, Paul and I went to Darryl's house for his class party. Hee he said that I'm now part of 3J. It was a really fun party. It was just a small gathering of people from his class and it was so fun! Ms Hor and Mr Lai were there! The only girls were Walker, Feifei, Yekky and myself. The guys were, of course, talking about army. There was this really cute family photo in the stairwell and Darryl looked so cute! :) But it was really enjoyable, so thanks Darryl! I had a wonderful time! After that Paul and I took a cab and we were just talking about a lot of rubbish in the taxi. The taxi uncle was so nice! He didn't start the meter until we got to the main road because he wasn't sure about how to get out! I thought that that was really sweet of him.

Yesterday morning, I went for mass at 9 as usual. Then after that there was a 208 society class outing! :) only that Shun and Vivvy weren't there :( but it was really enjoyable! We were talking about all our stupid sec 1 escapades. Like how Oafie, Lorenda and Margaret used to play dodge the Leonganna. And how there was 1 PE session back in Sec 1 when we were taking height and weight and someone recorded Margaret's weight wrongly so it seeemed as though she put on 7 kg in 1 term. That was so funny. and how the little Yupi Gummies were pup leongannas and memorable things like that. AND U2 was having a sale! I got 2 pairs of jeans for $69! which I'm going to bring over to Australia. :) I need to buy more long sleeved shirts as well. bleh. Last night, I went for the midnight mass! It was my first time going for midnight mass and it was really really nice. Eunice and I went about half an hour early and the church was already almost full! Jim smartly told us to dress up so we both wore dresses that we wore for prom -.- and I did feel slightly overdressed but then there were other people who dressed up so it was ok :) and the mass was really beautiful. Thanks to Barry for the card and Emmanuel for the present! Father Clifford celebrated the mass and his sermon was really thought-provoking. One thing he said that would always be with me is the matter of gift-giving:

Jesus was God's gift to mankind, but have you ever thought that mankind was God's gift to Jesus? Back in the time in Genesis, there was just God and Jesus, and because God loved Jesus, he wanted to give His son a gift, and that was mankind. Imagine if you were in a department store buying a gift for your son. And after wrestling with all the parents you're lucky enough to get that gift. But then that gift is broken, spoiled. Wouldn't you be sad? Similarly, mankind is broken and spoiled, and God was disappointed, sad. But then Jesus told God, "Don't worry, I will fix it." And there, we have the death of Jesus on the cross to save us from sin.

When I heard the sermon, my first thought was: Wow. I never really thought about it that way and I felt overwhelmed. :) It really was quite an experience and I can't really find the words to describe how I felt, but it was just amazing. :)

After mass, they were serving fruit cake and wine in the canteen, so Jim, Eunice and I went down and had a bit. Eunice took 2 cups of wine. haha. We got home around 2 and I was talking to Paul on the phone until around 3 when the both of us decided that we were completely exhausted and then went to sleep. :)

Didn't do much today. I spent the whole day bumming around with Eunice. I had an afternoon nap and then waited for Che and Ben to come over for dinner. It was really enjoyable! I love it when they come over then we'll all just talk for a long time over coffee. For some strange reason, we spent a long time talking about gays. OOH and we decided that since our own family never had our own dinner, we decided that we shall have an Epiphany dinner. How cools is that? We go against convention. haha. :) hm. Interesting. But this year I experienced a lot of meaningful things, and for that I am thankful :)

"For God so loved that world, that He gave his only son.." God bless us, everyone :)

I am currently in a I-want-to-tear-out-my-hair-because-I-am-so-frustrated kind of mood. :(

Not good, not good..

I have sort of come up with a list of things I'll need when I'm there:
1. Clothes.. many thin layers a guess. I have my trench coat, thick coat.. I need to buy more sweaters and tops and jeans. bleh what a pain.

2. Good shoes that will last me through winter. Maybe I shall get boots and a new pair of running shoes

3. Slow cooker and rice cooker

4. My books.. stationary.. files.. more stationary.. many pens! :)

5. Comforter for the bed, photos for the room

6. .. .. ..

dammit I really have NO idea what to bring over. Maybe the 30 kg is taken up mostly by the books and comforter and slow cooker and rice cooker. I bet my clothes will take up less than 10 kg with what I am bringing over now. -.-

What else should I bring.. -looks around room- I would like to bring my whole room, but that would be utterly ridiculous. Maybe I can go to Ikea and buy some nice things like magazine holders. But that just means that I have more rubbish to clear when I move out of my room in November next year. haha that rhymes. :)

Ooh I'm so frustrated right now. :(

I realised that I haven't blogged in a while. A lot of things have happened over the past few weeks, but I will never finish this entry if I type exactly what happened since 13 December. So I shall start from last Thursday. Met Ben Wang at Northpoint Swensen's for lunch! :) It was an enjoyable lunch!! :) Nice seeing him again. After that I went home to relax. The slack life I'm living is so enjoyable!

On Saturday, my RJ band batch had a Christmas party!! It was so fun! We went to Paul's condo at Duchess Road and it was sparsely furnished, so we all sat on the floor in the living room. Ok, there was no furniture at all in the house. There was no TV, CD player, DVD player or anything that Paul said that there would be in the house. So we were just sitting in one big circle eating pizza and chips and drinking coke. It was so nice because we were like one big happy family again. :) Darryl and Paul were hilarious with all their comments about indie music (which is independent music, not Indian music :)) and other things. Passing the parcel was so funny because of all the forfeits and Liu Rui and Osh were so sweet :) Thank you to my darlings - Pei Xuan, Paula, Hui Yan, Tse Min, Liu Rui, Hui Yun, Vicky, Paulee, Darryl, Mark Wang, Yun Yuan, Holas, Wei Fang, Jun Yan, Zhong Ye, Yee Kiat, Osh and Marlom.

Today Mom and I went out for almost the whole day. By the time we got back, we were half dead. Our feet were killing us and the bus and trains were so crowded. The trains were especially irritating because even though they were full, people outside were still forcing their way in. What a pain. -grumbles- But we went to so many places! It was really nice! and I managed to get the sweater from U2 that I have been eyeing for a long time. At first I thought it was sold out, but then I found it at PS!

I realised that I have been very frustrated about some things lately. Last night, I went for the Penitential Mass at church and I really felt a lot better after it was over. Confession really is quite uplifting :) Thank you, God, for Your grace. I felt like a burden was lifted from me, but then tonight, I felt a little sad all over again. One of the questions on the screen yesterday for quiet reflection was "Is there a promise to claim?" And upon thinking about it, there was a promise or an assurance that was given to me a while ago, and I'm still waiting for it. I hope that God will reveal something to me in time. Meanwhile, I think I'll just have to be strong, not to mention keep my big mouth shut.

Tomorrow, I'm going for some training. Kenneth's mom needs help at a roadshow coming up, so hopefully I'll be of some use! :) sell some computers and maybe, hopefully, I can work with her for a month or so before I go to Australia.

I think I need to do some reflections about the past year. It really went by so quickly.. and I really need to start packing. I'll be leaving in slightly over a month's time and I haven't even started thinking about what I should be bringing. BAHH. I should heed Shun Ling's advice and start packing early!! but what to pack, what to pack?!

I need to clear my mind..

I was just reading some of my past entries, and I realised that I really have changed a lot since then - my style of writing, my content. Well I suppose my content would definitely change since my life is different now! :) but my entries are still punctuated with smilies :)

I am in Eunice's room now. Mom has been trying to get me to sleep in her room to save air con. I do miss my room though. But it's nice sharing a room again, talking to each other in the dark, although we both fall asleep soon after that. We're getting old -laughs-

I do miss JC. I miss the simplicity of life in J1. Whenever Pei Xuan and I reminisce, we always go back to J1. J2 was way too fast and way too stressful! In retrospect, I did enjoy the grind of A levels. Sure, I complained non-stop.. or rather, it's something I do pretty often :).. but I complained about them a lot, but now that I look back, I miss the studying in school, eating ban mian for lunch every day, always waiting for someone to cycle out to buy food. -laughs- studying in the chat rooms, classrooms, where ever. :) I miss RJ. Going back today brought back waves of nostalgia.

Ah well, Eunice wants to sleep and the typing irritates her so I'll end here :) Nightey.. but first..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIU RUI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE YOU DEARRRR!!!!! (RED FOR LIVERPOOL!! WOOHOOOO!)

quite a bit of stuff has happened lately. but i think i shall just blog about the weekend :) on saturday, paulee and i went for breakfast at cartel. :) i love breakfasts there.. then after that we watched the nativity story, and it was such an amazing movie! The 2 parts that really got to me were when Mary was reciting the Magnificat at the end of the movie and when Elizabeth saw Mary and said to her, "Blessed are you among all women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb." oh and there was also the part with the Wise Men, who were really amusing, when they present the gifts to Jesus. "Gold for the King of kings, Frankincense for the Priest of priests and Myrrh for the Mother's great sacrifice." It was such a simple movie, but the message was so powerful, the real meaning of Christmas, with no special effects or anything. It truly was astounding and I totally loved it! :) After that, I went for alumni, and took out my instrument. But then it started late and there was the showcase of ensembles, so by the time the showcase ended, it was time for Pei Xuan and I to leave for SAFTI to watch the commissioning parade. haha so we kind of took our instruments out for nothing. We both took the train to the west to meet Hui Yun, but she told us that the Boon Lay taxi stand was flooded, so Pei Xuan and I got off at Lakeside and waited for a taxi. SAFTI is so nice!! and the parade was so amazing! I'm so proud of all of them! Congratulations to all those who got commissioned! After the ceremony, the 3 of us were walking around the parade square looking for familiar faces. But we only managed to find Wei Fang, because the Navy people were the only ones wearing all white -.- Then we walked right past Swee Sen, and didn't recognise him until he called out to us, Mingkai found us, and Max walked past us. Quite funny.. they all look the same. But it was nice meeting old friends again. :) It was quite sad though, the officers and their parents all went to have a 10 course dinner, while the friends and the rest of the families went for a buffet, so we didn't have a chance to really talk to anyone. bah. It took me about 1.5 hours to get from SAFTI to home, but it was worth it I think.

Yesterday, church was nice. Nothing much happened really.. but in the afternoon, I met Paulee for lunch and we went to NTUC to buy some food, then went over to his place and watched a movie. Then we were talking for the whole afternoon about a lot of things and I'm glad we got everything sorted out. :) Thanks Paulee :)

So today, I'm meeting Hui Yan at 12 at Aljunied. We're going to go visit Shun Ling's mom!! :D so cutes. Have to go get ready.. God bless~

ahhh.. this weekend was so amazing :) i really enjoyed myself immensely and i'm seriously on a high. a really exhausted high, but a high nonetheless. on saturday, i attended paul's sister's wedding and it was so beautiful. she looked so pretty!! and the church was gorgeous! the only downside to the day was that paul's mom came to me and asked, "iris.. ni zhong le hah?" then i almost wanted to cry. thankfully, esther said that i still looked the same. so i'm quite happy. but it's quite scary.. :( i need to lose weight. should have taken part in the standard chartered marathon. HAHA. i think until now i still wouldn't have finished the 42km :) by the time i got home, it was already 330 so i decided not to go for alumni. then cheryl called me and told me we needed black cloth, so i rushed down to spotlight to buy some cloth then i came home and i had a bowl of vegetable soup with tofu for dinner. no carbs!

on sunday morning, i went to church, then after that i came home to prepare for the csa christmas party then met paul for lunch in town. my stupid brown bag was full of stupid plastic bags that had all kinds of little nicknacks or however it's spelt and it was so heavy. i was also carrying another paper bag. and i took a train down to ntu alumni club at buona vista and the thought of climbing up the hill irked me, but in the name of exercise! i decided to go conqueor the hill. but then i found a short cut :) so heck the hill. :D i thought i was late!! i reached around 230, and we were supposed to reach at 1. in the end, marcel and becks were the only people there. nick zheng came slightly later, so i was helping marcel inflate the balloons that we threw around the room and we all burst quite a few. then i did the sash for the pageant, and i was cursing with every stitch i took, because the cloth was 2m long, and i had to hem both sides to prevent fraying and i was so pissed because it was taking forever, and there was other stuff i had to do as well. -.- thank God for becks who helped me out with the hemming, if not i would have ripped the whole cloth apart. to make things worse, i thought i had lost my handphone, so while i was frantically trying to sew up the sash, i was also looking for my handphone, which happened to be in my bag. stupid me. the party went quite well! :) and it was really enjoyable being with everyone. i was a bit sad, because i couldn't really enjoy the whole programme, because i was running around for quite a lot of the evening, but it was a very rewarding experience, and i'm really glad i could help out with the event. :) i must admit that i couldn't wait until the party was over, but now that it is, I wish it wasn't, because I really enjoyed myself and being with all the CSA people. :) after the party was over, they got a DJ down and people were just dancing in a circle around the dance area, and it was slightly weird really.. :) then after that, Polly and some other girls dragged Vanessa and me into the circle then everyone else started dancing and they played it's my life by Bon Jovi and it was so fun because during the chorus, we were all jumping. I really enjoyed it because no one was drinking, no one was smoking, and I knew everyone there! :) so it was such an enjoyable evening! after that, i popped into the kbox room and i wanted to sing ben xiao hai but then they were closing the club already, so we had to go off. :(

after that, Vanessa, Cheryl, Rina, Joel, Hazel and I climbed into the back of the van while Iggy and Alex sat in front and it was quite a bumpy ride back to NTU. I crashed Cheryl's room and I felt quite disgusting because I didn't bring a change of clothes. Anyway, after that, Vanessa, Iggy, Cheryl, Rina, Alex, Joel, Nick and Geri went to Geylang for supper around 4. W ewent to Lorong 9 for beef hor fun. After that we drove around and ended up going for dim sum after the hor fun. sitting in the back of the van was so fun though!! we were all on the floor sitting on newspapers and talking and laughing and making so much noise. :) after we dropped Vanessa off, we went to Bukit Panjang to drop Nick off. After taht I drove back to NTU. It was quite cool driving on the expressway at 6am because it was quite clear and traffic wasn't bad. and the best part was that i didn't get lost!

haha after that I slept over in Cheryl's room and the two of us just passed out on the bed around 615. Then I woke up at 9 and felt pissed and went back to bed. Then I woke up at 12. I wanted to go take a shower, but I didn't bring any bath stuff, so I wanted to ask Cheryl whether I could borrow hers. Then as I as I was taking her stuff, she suddenly bolted upright in bed and I was like what the hell.. :) and she looked around and asked me whether I called her. hm. :) I went to bathe and then we cleaned up her room. Ok I didnt' do much cleaning, just helped her move the vacuum cord around haha. :) Then Tiong, Jun Siang, Cheryl, Geri, Iggy and I went for lunch at can 16. Then we went back to Cheryl's room and just talked there waiting for Iggy to finish his meeting. Then I found pi pa kao all over my bag because Iggy didnt' clean the bottle properly. Moron :)

ah such a nice nice weekend. Thanks to all my dears who made it what it was ;)

i'm tired.. very very much so. when this weekend is over, it'll be quite a big relief. went for mass today at 6. i was passing by the church at around 545 on my way home from vivocity, so i decided to pop in for mass. and i really felt a lot better after that. :) today has been quite a headache-filled day. i had a nice time with paulee walking around vivocity but then, we watched tenacious d and that totally wrecked my day. i mean seriously.. it was awful. it totally swung my mood around. after that i was really really pissed.

i hope the christmas party goes well. no no no.. it WILL go well :)

bah. not really in the mood to blog. it's been a hectic day. and i miss my mafia and 208 society
